Our friends at The Bookmark at Neptune Beach are hosting a book signing for David Sibley, well known to birders for his field guides. He will be available on Saturday afternoon, April 2nd at 3 p.m. to talk about and sign copies of his newly revised and updated book “THE SIBLEY FIELD GUIDE TO BIRDS OF EASTERN NORTH AMERICA.”

New York Times bestselling author/illustrator David Sibley will be at The BookMark on Saturday afternoon, April 2 at 3 pm to talk about and sign copies of his newly revised and updated book The Sibley Field Guide to Birds of Eastern North America.  Compact and comprehensive, this guide features 650 bird species plus regional population found east of the Rocky Mountains.  Entries include stunningly accurate illustrations—more than 4,601 in total—with descriptive captions pointing out the most important field marks.  Each entry has been updated to include the most current information concerning frequency, nesting, behavior, food and feeding, voice description, and key identification features.  Here too are more than 601 updated maps drawn from information contributed by 110 regional experts across the continent, and showing winter, summer, year-round, migration, and rare ranges.

Not only is this guide updated, its format has been improved to make it easier to use.  It is being touted as “the indispensable resource for all birders seeking an authoritative guide to the birds of the East in a portable format they will want to carry into the field.”

David Allen Sibley is the author and illustrator of the series of successful guides to nature that bear his name, including the New York Times bestseller The Sibley Guide to Birds.  He has contributed articles to Smithsonian, Science, The Wilson Journal of Ornithology, Birding, Birdwatching, and North American Birds.  He is the recipient of the Roger Tory Peterson Award for Lifetime Achievement from the American Birding Association, and the Linnaean Society of New York’s Eisenmann Medal.  He lives in Concord, Massachusetts.
