NEW LOCATION! Field Trip: Blue Cypress Park
Sunday, March 24, 2019, 08:00am - 12:00pm

The city-owned park named Blue Cypress in the Arlington section of Jacksonville was at one time a local 18-hole golf course for the Edenfield River Estates development. Because the park is located in an environmentally sensitive area, plans were developed to reduce the course to a 9-hole golf course and use the remaining area for a natural, resourced-based public outdoor recreation site.

Blue Cypress Park features lots of ponds and wooded areas, with good chances to see a variety of species, including Eastern Bluebird, White Ibis, American Kestrel, a variety of woodpeckers, and possibly some migrating warblers.

This is a great field trip for novice birders.

Meet in the parking lot near the public restrooms (just south of the tennis courts).

Directions: Go north on University Blvd past Jacksonville University and Blue Cypress Park. Turn left at the second entrance into the park. No fee.

Location 4112 University Blvd N, Jacksonville, FL 32277
PLEASE NOTE LOCATION CHANGE FOR THIS FIELD TRIP! Reddie Point Preserve will be closed for two months starting March 18, 2019 so we are moving this field trip to nearby Blue Cypress Park.
