What: Duval Audubon Society Monthly Cleanup

Where: Kathryn Abbey Hanna Park, 500 Wonderwood Drive, Atlantic Beach, FL

When: Sunday, April 15, 2018 @ 8-11 am

Duval Audubon Society is partnering with St. Johns Riverkeeper and the City of Jacksonville to do monthly cleanups in the Jacksonville area, and this month’s cleanup will be at Hanna Park.
Kathryn Abbey Hanna Park is a 1.5-mile public beach and city park located in the Atlantic Beach area near the Mayport Naval Station. It consists of 447 acres of mature coastal hammock, which is increasingly rare to find along Florida’s heavily developed Atlantic coast. The freshwater fingerlakes here support Anhingas, wading birds and a variety of waterfowl, and the hardwood hammock has trails where migratory songbirds are common in season. It’s a wonderful spot for hiking, biking, and of course, birding!
Join us to help clean up this Jacksonville gem!
Wear clothes that can get dirty and boots or close-toed shoes (for your safety, no sandals or flip-flops, please). Bags, gloves, and grabbers will be provided.
What to bring:
– Water
– Sunscreen
– Bug spray
– Heavy-duty gloves if you have them
Park admission is free for participants; just notify the ranger at the gate.
We’ll meet on the lake side by the playground and picnic area, near the bath house. Take the first right turn after you enter the park and go all the way to the end of the road.
PLEASE NOTE: If you are under 18, you MUST bring a waiver form signed by your parent. You can download the form at
