We meet at the observation platform at GTMNERR’s North Beach Access. We’ll scan the ocean for pelagic species, ducks and anything else that flies/floats by.  We should have good looks at Northern Harrier, (possible) Peregrine Falcon, Osprey, wading birds (Egrets and Herons), overwintering ducks, such as Scaup, Pintail, Coots and Teal.  Off shore has the possibility of Jaegers, Scoters, Willets and "peeps", Terns and Gulls.  There is very little walking and the trip is a great opportunity for learning and teaching each other about our winter species. This site gives excellent views of the lake on the west side of the road as well. Great for birders of all levels and experience. The only walking necessary is climbing the stairs from the parking lot and to the platform. There are portalet facilities in the parking lot. Bring binoculars, spotting scope (if you have one) and a friend!

Location: North Beach Access Parking lot, located approximately 7 miles north of the Gate Gas Station on A1A and the GTMNERR main entrance.

Parking is $3 per vehicle, exact change needed. Gate doesn't open until 0800 a.m.
